About FPPI
The independent benchmark for Fair Pay Practice.
FPPI exists to help organisations understand, evidence, and improve the fairness and transparency of their pay practices — and to establish a global standard for what Fair Pay Practice actually means.
Why we exist
Pay transparency is increasing. Most organisations are becoming more transparent without becoming more fair. That creates risk — to employees, to employer brand, and to organisational trust.
The problem isn't transparency itself. It's that transparency and fairness are treated as the same thing. They aren't. They're separate organisational capabilities that must be measured and developed together.
"Transparency reveals trust. Fairness creates trust. Together they create Fair Pay Practice."
What FPPI is — and isn't
FPPI is a measurement and accreditation framework. It is not a consultancy, a software tool, or a compliance advisory service. The closest description is an independent standard — but that understates the ambition.
FPPI is in the process of defining its own category: an independent body that sets the bar for what Fair Pay Practice means, and measures organisations against it. Not with a single score, but with two co-developing dimensions — Fairness and Transparency — and a precise view of whether they're in balance.
The founding thesis
Fairness and transparency are distinct organisational capabilities. Most employers measure neither effectively, and have no way to know whether they are in balance. The organisations that develop both — in step with each other — earn the right to call themselves Fair Pay Practice employers.
This co-development principle is the intellectual core of everything FPPI does. It shapes the assessment model, the scoring engine, the risk matrix, and the certification roadmap.
Commercial, not activist
FPPI is future-focused, not fear-focused. Commercial in structure, independent in position. We don't believe in public shaming, compliance theatre, or ideological positioning. We believe in evidence, progress, and the practical business case for getting pay right.
The FPPI self-assessment is free, takes under 30 minutes, and gives you an immediate view of where your organisation stands.
